How does fixed-price billing actually work?
Every headline price is what you pay, deposit plus balance, with no hourly overrun. If a project needs more work than we quoted because of something on our side, that time is on us. If the scope grows because you want additional features mid-build, we quote a fixed price for the extra scope before starting — never mid-project surprises.
Third-party costs — domains, email, AI provider subscriptions — are billed at cost and shown separately, never marked up. You set them up in your own accounts so we never sit between you and your data, and you will get the expected figures in writing with your quote rather than as a surprise later.
Which is right for me — a bundle, a project or a retainer?
Pick a consulting bundle if you have a specific problem to solve in a few live sessions — a workflow to automate, an integration to build, a decision to make. Pick a project if you need a distinct thing shipped end-to-end (a website, a chatbot, an internal tool). Pick a retainer if you want the ongoing growth work (social, reviews, leads, chatbot upkeep) run for you month after month.
Most clients start with one and add another later — a Starter chatbot project, then a Light-touch retainer to keep it running. A Core project to build the website, then a 4-hour Lite bundle six months later to add a specific feature. You do not have to pick your final answer today.
What are the ongoing costs after a project ships?
It depends on the build, and you will get the actual numbers with your quote rather than after you have signed. A chatbot has a monthly fee from us plus an AI provider subscription (OpenAI or Anthropic) in your own account. A website is just hosting and domain fees. A custom automation may need a Zapier or Make.com subscription. All of the third-party pieces are optional if you would rather self-host, and we will tell you what that trade-off costs you in convenience.
You do not need a monthly plan to keep the build running — that is only for changes and improvements. If you want it monitored with a small change or two a month and priority response, a light-touch plan covers that. Otherwise the build runs itself and you pay as you go from a fresh consulting bundle, £150 for four hours, whenever something needs doing.
What happens if I want to pause or cancel?
Monthly retainers cancel with 30 days notice — no minimum term, no fee. You can also pause for a month (holiday, quiet season, cash flow) and pick up where you left off. Consulting bundles are refundable pro-rata on unused hours within the first 30 days. Projects can be paused mid-build; you keep everything shipped so far and unused deposit becomes credit for a future engagement.
When you leave, you keep everything. Code lives in your GitHub. Data lives in your accounts. Training documents get sent to you on request. There are no proprietary formats, no hostage-taking of your logins, and no exit fees. If you decide to switch to a different provider two years from now, we make handover as easy as possible — you paid us for the work, you own it.

How do consulting bundles work?
You buy a fixed number of engineer hours: Lite is 4 hours for £150, Plus is 8 hours for £250, Core is 16 hours for £400. Hours are used across a set of live Zoom working sessions. You can top up in 4-hour blocks at the same rate. If a bundle is not right for you we recommend a project fee or a monthly retainer instead.
What is included in a monthly retainer?
Light-touch covers monitoring, one task or update a month, a check-in call and priority response. Active management adds ongoing content creation, social or review management, a monthly strategy call and performance reporting. Individual pieces — social, reviews, competitor monitoring, lead generation — can be added on or bought on their own. All of it is quoted after a free call and fixed monthly once agreed.
Do you offer a discount for paying up front or a longer commitment?
No. Prices are fixed and transparent — the whole point is you know exactly what a job costs before you commit. Paying up front does not get you a discount, and there are no long-term contracts to sign in exchange for a lower monthly. If you want to save, pick the smaller tier and upgrade later — you can move up or down any month.
What is the difference between a project and a retainer?
A project is one-off — website, app, automation, custom build. You pay a deposit, we deliver, done. A retainer is ongoing — monthly work like managing your chatbot, running social, replying to reviews. Most clients start with a project (to get set up) then move to a Light-touch retainer to keep things running. You do not have to do both.
What payment methods do you take?
Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe, and bank transfer for larger projects. Consulting bundles are paid up front by card through the pricing page. Project deposits are invoiced with 30-day terms, balance due on delivery. Monthly retainers bill on the first working day of the month. We do not take PayPal.
What if I need to pause or cancel?
Monthly retainers can be paused for one month per year and cancelled any month with 30 days’ notice — no fee. Consulting bundles are refundable pro-rata on unused hours if you cancel within the first 30 days. Projects can be paused mid-build; you keep whatever has shipped and unused deposit is credited to a future engagement.
Do you take on projects outside these tiers?
Yes. Anything that does not fit the standard tiers gets a fixed-price quote after a free 30-minute discovery call. Larger builds, multi-team integrations and bespoke apps are almost always quoted this way. The rule is the same: one number, no hourly billing, deposit up front, balance on delivery.
